Into a group chat, a volunteer email, a Signal thread. That link is the whole distribution model.
Open, pick something, put a name on it. A claimed unit vanishes from everyone else's list immediately.
The shared progress is the motivation. You can see the work running out, and you can see who is carrying it.

Signup is where volunteer tools lose most of their people. The link is the credential; the claim lives on it.
Taking a unit removes it for everyone. That is what prevents duplicated work, and it is what makes claiming feel like getting something.
They cut the list once. Distribution happens without them, including at 2am when they are asleep.
One bar everyone can see. It recruits — a list at 80% pulls people in; a list at 0% tells you where help is needed.
